Version VHPD (Very High Power Derivative) du moteur Rover, développant 192 chevaux.



The Sport 190 was first announced in January 2002 and further information appear at the Geneva Motorshow in March 2002.


Each S2 Sport 190 car is tailor made by Lotus Motorsport and although not strictly road legal, by deleting certain standard items the car can be made road legal. The basic specification is as per the standard Elise S2 plus:

Uprated engine

1.8 litre DOHC 16v 4 cylinder inline.
192PS (190bhp) @ 7,800 rpm.
174NM (128 lb/ft) @ 5,000 rpm.
Race cooling system.
Engine oil cooler.


Double wishbone with coil springs over gas pressured racing dampers.
Adjustable ride heights.
Adjustable front anti-roll bar.

Front 6.5" x 16" wheels.

MSA approved race seat and 4 point race harnesses.

282mm diameter ventilated discs, Lotus/AP Racing 2 piston aluminium front callipers and racing pads.


Rigidly mounted rack and pinion 2.8 turns lock to lock.


Maximum speed 135mph (219km/h).
0-60mph 4.4 seconds (100km/h 4.5 seconds).

Le VHPD des mk2 S190 est "d origine" Lotus Motorsport.
Alors qu'avant les VHPD arrivaient tour prêt de chez PTP pour Lotus, avec apparament hélas des bons et des moins bons, le 190 des mk2 était entièrement monte et préparé chez Lotus Motorsport à partrir d un bloc nu. Ce qui en fait, en principe, les meilleurs VHPD montés chez Lotus sur les élise.
